ondo.

Tours, transfers and the places we'd actually send a friend to.

Where we actually go.

Four places we send friends to. Three are across the river, which is where most visitors never bother going. Tap for why.

A proper tasca. One man runs the whole room, the menu is handwritten and there's no English on it. Enormous plates, almost nothing on the bill. Locals start queuing before seven, so get there early or don't get in at all.

A crumbling old dock covered in street art, with the best view there is of Lisbon and the bridge — because it's the only one looking back at the city. Take the ferry from Cais do Sodré and walk. Go in daylight: the ground is broken and there are no railings at the edge.

Family run, fish straight off the boat and onto the grill. Nothing about it is designed to impress you, and it's better than most places in Lisbon charging three times more.

A rooftop buried in plants above Largo do Monte, open until ten. Order the white sangria and stay for the sunset. Genuinely hard to find, which is the whole point.

Beach runs

We drop you at the sand, book you a table for lunch, and come back for you when you're done.

Return trip, whatever time you want picking up. Cold water and beach towels are in the car, and lunch comes with a drink on us.

Longer runs, one way

Prices are for the whole car, up to 4 people with luggage. Want to stop for a coffee or a viewpoint on the way? Tell us when you book — it usually costs nothing.

After Lisbon.

Heading somewhere else next? These are the two we'd pick — and we'll drive you there, door to door, with your luggage and no connections.

Costa Vicentina is the wild Atlantic coast below the Alentejo — cliffs, empty beaches, almost nothing built. Nothing like the Algarve. About two and a half hours.

The Alentejo is cork oaks, whitewashed towns and the best food in the country. Évora, Monsaraz, Comporta. Around two hours.

Tell us where you're staying and we'll price the exact run. Want to stop on the way — a village, a winery, lunch? That's the good version.

Booking

  1. Message us on WhatsApp with your date, how many people, and where you're staying.
  2. We check availability and confirm — usually the same day.
  3. You pay on the day, in cash or by card.

Up to 4 passengers in one car. Larger groups up to 8 are fine with a second vehicle — just tell us and we'll arrange it. Pick-up outside Lisbon (Cascais, Estoril, Sintra) adds €20 to the booking.

Also worth doing.

Places and people we work with. Everything paid for is marked, so you know the difference between a partner and a recommendation.

The pool, looking over the vineyards A table laid outside by the pool A bedroom under the old beams A bedroom with a fireplace

The kitchen garden supplies the table all year, there's an open Alentejo fireplace for winter, a pool for summer, and a wine cellar worth the trip on its own. Rooms run from small doubles up to the whole house, and dogs are welcome.

Getting there. No train, no bus worth taking, and a rental car means airport queues and a car you won't use once you arrive. We drive you instead — door to door with your luggage, about an hour and three quarters, €200 each way for the whole car. Stop for lunch or a winery on the way and we'll build it in.

All the gear is included and no experience is needed — they run you through it before you start. Two and a half hours, two people to a quad, out through the pine forest and along the dunes above the beach. 4.9 out of 5 from more than two thousand riders.

Make a day of it. Message us instead of booking alone and we'll build the whole day around it — pick-up at your hotel, the ride in the morning, lunch at a place we know, and the afternoon on the sand before we bring you back.
